Graveney “Gray” Stuart Severin was born in Dominica and moved to New York City nearly three decades ago before settling in Bloomfield, where he passed away at the age of 48 on May 28, 2020.
Gray was a plumber by trade who was employed by the Metropolitan Transit Authority and offered his services freely to friends and family. He is survived by his wife, Andrea, and two children, Ethan and Tristan – “the highlight of his life,” according to Andrea.
Gray was a member of the Colihaut Boys cricket team and Dominica United Cricket Club. With them, he helped raise money and run backpack and book drives to help people in need.
“This is what we loved about him,” Andrea said. “If he had one penny and someone told him they are in need, he’d give them that one penny even though he had nothing else.”
Memories of Gray can be shared here. And memorial trees can be purchased for planting in his memory by the American Forests Organization here.
