Louis Rocco Raimondi – who was born in Newark and lived in Bloomfield for 63 years –passed away at the age of 86 on April 23, 2020 at St. Barnabas Hospital in Livingston, New Jersey.

Louis worked for the Bloomfield’s Department of Public Works for 34 years and retired as the department’s supervisor of trees in 1996. He is survived by three children, seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

Louis loved his family and was well-loved in return by many who met him, according to his daughter, Lisa Raimondi Christiano. When he was younger, “he was known for being the first to reach out to anyone who needed help,” according to Lisa.

Louis was also an avid singer who rode his motorcycle well into his 70s. He lost his wife, Connie, to cancer 12 years ago.
